Head of DHL Consulting Asia-Pacific, VP

Heading one of the regional offices of DHL Consulting, the position is a key role in building and driving the consulting service portfolio in the APAC region: From a strategic down to an operational level, in close collaboration with all BUs and also external customers and in all dimensions from business development to project execution, building sustainable processes and tools and enabling clients.The role will be based in Singapore, with travel to other Asian markets as needed.

Key tasks:

  • Independently identify strategic and /or strategic logistics consulting projects with all BUs assuming full responsibility for the projects, to become a provider of choice:

    • Identifying customer needs and drawing up proposals by developing, commercializing, and delivering high-quality/innovative services and solutions
    • Planning, prioritizing, and steering project activities
    • Consulting and coordinating with other partners, project managers, and clients on the project progress, risk, and potential
    • Determining the need for follow-up projects and their acquisition
    • Challenging project results and helping the project teams generate impact and desired outcomes
    • Develop DHL Consulting further by defining and leading selected internal initiatives and assuming responsibility for the Strategic Logistics Consulting Practice Group
  • Manage the P&L (i.e., budgeting and steering of revenues and cost to achieve a profit) as contribution to the Investment of Choice KPIs for the regional office and DHL Consulting
  • Develop internal engagement through open and broad communication and orchestration of internal initiatives, manage the local EOS follow-up process, and develop talent for the group to contribute to the Employer of Choice bottom line
  • Represent DHL Consulting in the APAC region by connecting with relevant stakeholders on board levels across BUs
  • Manage and build stakeholder relationships with senior Business leaders, project sponsors, and further stakeholders as part of the project delivery; determine the need for follow-up projects and drive the business development pipeline and project acquisition strategically
  • Initiate, manage, and relationships with relevant stakeholders of external customers by working closely with internal stakeholders who provide leads for (strategic logistics) consulting projects
  • Be part of the global DHL Consulting management team, taking the right decisions globally and implementing locally
  • Manage as Personal Developer a direct team of highly skilled consultants and experts (a team consisting of ~15 team members, from junior to senior roles, who exercise latitude and independence in project work

Requirements:

  • University education with an above-average degree
  • 6-7 years experience in a strategy/management consultancy, in-house consulting within a major corporation or proven experience within projects with strategic themes
  • In-depth working experience in the APAC regions
  • Several years of project management experience of complex projects/programs covering a broad range of functional areas (including logistics)
  • Sound experience in handling complex multi-project situations and proven track-record in collaborating with a large number of high-level stakeholders (C-Level)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; plus high proficiency in one additional Asian language
