What you will do:  

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their processes and challenges, and to translate them into analytical approaches or derive ideas on how data & AI can help. 

• Collect, understand, and analyze the existing data landscape as pre-requisite for the AI application in close interaction with the business experts and under the guidance of senior team members, i.e. context engineering. 

• Support the development of scalable solution architectures, learning how to design systems that can be efficiently implemented at scale. 

• Contribute to preparing, testing, and releasing AI features, working with the team to deploy updates, monitor performance, and understand key indicators such as responsiveness, reliability, and cost. 

• Create simple demos, prototypes and practical enablement materials, such as lightweight UIs, playbooks, and templates to help colleagues and users get started quickly. 

• Assist in preparing and delivering workshops, communicating insights and recommendations in a clear, structured manner. 

• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, and Product Managers, working with, and learning from senior AI Scientists or Machine Learning Engineers to grow your technical and professional skills.

What you bring:   

• University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative or technical field, or a comparable qualification. Additional studies in business, management or economics are a plus. 

• Enthusiasm about broader business challenges and the ability to translate them into technical solutions. 

• Excellent English language, communication, and presentation skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical trade-offs and decisions to non-technical stakeholders.   

• Proficient programming skills in Python or R, solid SQL skills, experience with additional languages (e.g. Java) is a plus; software hygiene (version control, testing, code reviews).  

• Experience in building backend services or pipelines and integrating ML/LLM components.  

• Good knowledge of Retrieval/RAG, agent orchestration, and the field of AI in general.  

• Basic understanding of the foundational concepts of machine learning, statistical analysis, and/or mathematical optimization techniques.   

• Practical experience in analyzing complex datasets and developing analytical or AI-based models and a keen interest in AI innovation.  

• Some first experience in working on strategic or cross-functional initiatives in a corporate environment, e.g. through internships or student work.

• Curiosity, growth mindset, strong results-orientation and problem-solving abilities combined with a collaborative and positive “can-do” attitude.
